Former Arsenal Defender Mikael Silvestre thought his side had hit the old form at the right time in the Premier League.
A dismal start to their League campaign saw United Kingdom took only five points from their five games, but Louis van Gaal men's Premier League side form with four wins from their four games.
And Silvestre, who now plies trade with India Hero Super League leaders ChennaiyinFC, believes Wayne Rooney Captained form has become the key to United's revival.
"They're coming back at the right time before the Christmas period and hopefully theirinjury problems will lessen and they will get even stronger," said Silvestre.
"Now the players know each other better. They have stepped up and they now knowwhat is required in the Premier League.
"They are now in the fourth Champions League place and they actually benefited from the form of Rooney in America and the United Kingdom.
"He has both the captain and it was the right time for him to get the armband. Players like Robin van Persie's return to form and people like Radamel Falcao made themsuperb going forward. "
Asked where he thought the Americans would finish at the end of the season, Silvestresaid: "the Top four. I think they will get stronger. I think they now find the right balance with Louis van Gaal. "
Silvestre enjoyed a highly successful spell in the United Kingdom under Sir AlexFerguson, clinching five League titles and played on the side of the double winner ofthe UEFA Champions League 2007-08.
And 37 years, which calculate the Inter, arsenal and Werder Bremen among his formerclubs, remember the time in America with great fondness.
"I only have the best memories of my time at Old Trafford," he said "this is a greatStadium to play in and you always want to peform and doing well in America becausethe special."
